Hello, welcome to our Blog! We recently moved the Blog onto our website (it was previously on Blogger) and so we will add to it afresh, over time. We hope you enjoy our Blog and the news and updates we have to share with you.

What's the difference between physical and emotional hunger?
In psychotherapy, counselling and dietetics, one of the strategies we often do is to look at the differences between physical and emotional hunger. If you're interested in some of these differences (and how they apply to you perhaps), then check out the poster below. Remember, we are here to support you. Our highly qualified, professional, friendly and supportive therapists and dietitians can offer in-person appointments at our clinic in Glasgow city centre or we can provide online or telephone appointments to anyone in the UK (we work with people all over the UK and beyond). Take that first step and get in touch to book an initial appointment with one of our therapists or dietitians (or both). Our motto is: 'your voice counts: recovery exists'. Your voice truly does matter. Best wishes, Talking EDs: Eating Disorders Support Service Scotland CONTACT W: www.eatingdisorderscotland.co.uk E: support@eatingdisorderscotland.co.uk

It's as simple as 3 meals a day.... isn't it?
It's as simple as eating 3 meals a day, isn't it? Our relationship with food isn't always as simple as eating 3 times a day. Those of you experiencing eating disorders or a tricky relationship with food will know this. We can often have a love-hate relationship with food and over time, feel like we're in a trap, stuck in our relationship with food, but feeling we have nowhere to turn. Well, you do have somewhere to turn. You can turn to us. We are interested in YOU, yes, YOU - not your weight or whether you fit an eating disorder stereotype or not. We are interested in what's going on for, regardless of what you weigh, how you look, how often you eat/don't eat, how much you are sick, how often you exercise or what your age or shape is. Therapists, counsellors, psychologists and dietitians often talk about how WE can help YOU. Yes, we can help you..... in lots of ways. However, we can't help you, until YOU take the first step and decide to improve your life and address the problem or co

An Invitation to Take Up Space
AN INVITATION TO TAKE UP SPACE Many of our clients worry that they are a 'burden', 'too much' or 'take up too much space'. It's an experience we hear a lot and an experience we work through with many clients who encounter this. These feelings can take on many guises: social anxiety; body image; eating disorders and more. Imagine living life feeling you are 'too much', a 'burden' or that you 'take up too much space'? Imagine how difficult life must be; imagine the impact and consequences of feeling like that and seeing yourself in that way? The little poem below comes from someone who writes about 'taking up space' and being proud of doing so. The motivational and inspirational poem below is by Annabelle Blythe and is called 'An Invitation to Take Up Space'. We hope you like it as much as we do. ** AN INVITATION TO TAKE UP SPACE ** By Annabelle Blythe I take up space For all the children Who have been made to feel small Be it by peers or parents. I invite you To prove them wrong. I take
