PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING GROUP

Eating Disorder Therapist Networking Group

The  Eating Disorder Therapist Networking Group was founded in Scotland in 2011. Having re-named the group and taken a break for a few years, we are relaunching the networking group with a new name and expanding membership to outside of Scotland too! So everyone is welcome!

The Eating Disorder Therapist Networking Group (EDTNG) is a networking, ideas, discussion and interest group for anyone, including  psychotherapists, counsellors, therapists, psychologists and others working therapeutically with this client group, who have a professional interest in eating disorders and disordered eating.   Other professionals working or volunteering in the field of eating disorders are welcome to join too. Please note: this is NOT a support group for those experiencing eating disorders.

The networking group is a voluntary arm of the private psychotherapy practice, Talking EDs: Eating Disorder Support Service Scotland, which specialises in eating disorders and disordered eating. If you're interested in getting involved as a Member, Committee Member, Speaker/Trainer or in any other capacity, please do get in touch! We welcome anyone across the UK and beyond to join us.

'Being a Member of the networking group has really helped me to build knowledge, skills and confidence in my clinical practice with clients experiencing eating disorders'

What Will the Group Do?

You might be thinking 'What kind of things will we do?'  The answer is: as much as we can!  While the main aim is 'networking', we believe that the group can involve a lot of different activities and lots of different people. We are  open to new ideas and experiences. We would love your ideas and comments about what the group can do too.

Here's some  ideas and suggestions. We've already done some of these previously (see our past life above) and we look forward to future meetings, events, gatherings and networking!:

  • Workshops and Training
  • Discussion and Focus Groups
  • Clinical Supervision and Support Groups
  • Coffee and Chat Groups/Social Events
  • Research and Experiential Forums
  • Talks and Presentations
  • Informal Meetings and Gatherings.
  • Sharing experiences, information, knowledge and ideas.
  • Book Clubs
  • Film/Documentary Screenings/Discussions
  • Referrals
  • Other (suggestions welcome)
